The second version of the Volkswagen Tiguan is here. Should you consider this vehicle to be your next one? Inchcape Volkswagen, UK’s leading retailer for VW cars, is here to discuss why you should.
The VW Tiguan stood out from the crowd, and was the manufacturer’s entry into the compact crossover SUV market. It had upscale cabin, a solid build quality, and it went from A to B because of the help of a peppy, turbo-boosted engine. The vehicle was originally introduced in 2009, less then a decade ago.
Since 2009, every year there had been a new version of the Tiguan released. The 2010 VW Tiguan had front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive. The 2011 model had Bluetooth technology integrated. In 2012, two-wheel drive was added, as well as heated seats. The 2013 VW Tiguan came with an electronic parking break. In 2014, a sporty model of the car was introduced. In 2015, backup cameras became the norm throughout the line. In 2016, keyless entry and push-button starts were introduced.
What about the new VW Tiguan SUV, though? What does it have to offer?
The 2017 VW Tiguan is actually a bit larger than the 2016. The SUV is 60mm longer in length, and 30mm longer in width. The model has sharper lines in its design than the previous iterations of the vehicle as well.
As far as the interior, the inside of the vehicle has a sleeker and more classy design throughout. This is because higher standard materials were used. The seats in the SUV are able to be moved forwards and backwards, creating the space you need. And the boot of the SUV can hold 520 litres with the seats in normal position. Talk about a lot of space.
The technology is new, too. The vehicle comes with daytime lights, helping the driver see no matter the weather conditions. The SUV also comes with an optional heads-up display that comes from the dashboard and shoes the car’s speed, navigation data and surrounding traffic signs.
